search: hesed love versus agape love

" Hesed is based on obedience, but agape is founded in unmerited grace. Agape love, unconditional, self-sacrificial love, is the standard of love Jesus commanded us to express in the human family when He said: This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you."

In biblical context, "hesed" (Hebrew) refers to a loyal, covenantal love, while "agape" (Greek) describes a selfless, unconditional, and divine love, often seen as the highest form of love.
